it is really getting annoying considering i use this as a personal phone as well. Is there anyway to get rid of this, i went into options, but i cannot disable it there. Is there some type of hack or something? I had to install our companies desktop manager and other software, and then the password was needed.....

Can you give some more info? Exchange? Bes 4.0? type of Device ? Wireless sync or manual with USB? If you have a password on the device you can remove it from options>Security Options> Passwords > Disable. This is the only place a password can be set on the device. When I add a new unit and user to the Bes, i set a one time password for enterprise activation. I'm in NYC but we have offices around the united States. Cingular ships units to the users, they call me with when they get the units and I tell them to enter there email address and a one time password that i create on the bes, This actives the units for exchange usage. That one time password is now gone and a user can feel free to lock down the device with there own password. Again, you didn't give a ton of info, just going on what you gave. I'm also new on the board, I took a few months and read thru posts, took me from August to now before I started posting, if you take sometime and read and search the forum posts, you can find alot of info. It sounds like the Blackberry password is set by an IT Policy on the BES Server, which I suspect that your IT admin wouldn't change.
Depending on what other settings are enabled in the Policy you could change these settings on your BB.
Options > Security > Change the security timeout or disable the lock handheld upon holstering options.

Cure is to not sync it with your company's BES as it's definitely their IT policy. Odds are that they won't change the policy as I'm sure they want to keep their data safe.

Welcome to the wonderful world of IT security. Hopefully you can set your lock times to the maximum and not when you holster it and hopefully your IT security isn't nuts that require the use of a cap, 1 number, more than 6 characters, change it once a month, etc.

I don't have a corporate BES to deal with, but I do have a password on my BB, I hate to think that I have so much info on my BB if I lost it or it got stolen.

If you are on BES 4.0 then the policy will get pushed to you regardless of whether you sync or not. And you don't need to sync to get the policy - simply cradle it with DM open and it gets pushed down.
