| BB 7130 automatically cc's or prepopulates to/cc I have a Verizon 7130e device with a similar problem. The root cause appears to reside with the Address Book (Contacts). Apparently there are either corrupt entries or entries with values that the 7130 does not "understand". The problem does not appear on a 7250 device from Verizon. This issue has been reported to RIM and I am awaiting a response (I was also able to narrow it down to 5 of 83 contacts that "caused" the issues).
Symptoms:
One or all of the following symptoms may appear on the device:
- To and/or CC fields are prepopulated with a name or random information from the Address Book when using compose e-mail functionality
- Messages are sent and are "automatically" cc'd to an invalid address of the format:
net.rim.device.apps.internal.commonmodels.body.Bod yModelImpl@7d7a8581
where the value after the @ appears to be random (or possibly a PIN)
- Unable to enter text into the TO and/or CC fields when using the compose e-mail functionality
- Verizon 7130e Blackberry with firmware version 4.1.0.117
- Using wireless synchronization for Address Book
Workaround:
The situation can be resolved by reloading the contacts into Outlook. Use the following steps to solve this situation:
1) Export all of the contacts from Outlook to .csv file(s)
2) Delete all of the contacts from the contacts folder
3) Open the .csv file(s) using MS Excel
4) Save the .csv file by clicking "Save" from the file menu in Excel
5) You will receive a warning about formatting information may be lost… Click Yes to this message
6) Exit out of Excel (click no when prompted to save changes; this occurs because it was not saved as an .xls)
7) Ensure the Blackberry has synchronized the contact deletions from step 2 (the device should have no contacts)
8) Import the contacts from the .csv file(s) saved in step 4
9) Wait for the Blackberry to synchronize and verify that the symptoms are no longer present
Good luck! |
