Default transaction error decryption error (Again). - 01-12-2006, 06:32 AM

Hi,

My boss is currently in grenada (west indies) with his BB 7290 device.
He can receive emails no problem but cannot reply or send new messages.
We are using desktop manager ver:4.0.0.30 & desktop redirector.
I have read in other posts that the sp1 for ver:4.0 solves this problem?.
However i am unsure as to weather i can install sp1 on his pc without his BB present?.
If i installed a new version of desktop manager would a new key need to be regenerated? and can i generate a new key & synchronize the key whilst he's in the west indies?.

Any other comments & ideas as to a solution are more than welcome.

We have allready tried deleting the service book on his device & i have sent a new service book but this doesnt seem to have helped.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gary.

You can run the DM update without the device present, but that won't solve the problem. The info you have seen on DM SP1 fixing encryption keys is about when you generate a new key locally. You should generate a new encryption key for him from the BES (if version 4.0).

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response.
When you say generate a key from the BES, Are you refering to enterprise server?,
I dont think we have bes running,
As far as i can see we are running desktop manager with desktop redirector.
Would i need to install BES??

Sorry if i seem a little confused, But i am!!
Thanks

The only option you have it to wait.
Install the latest Desktop Manager, when your boss gets back then generate a new encryption key and your set.

You don't need BES
