Welcome to BB Forums. I recommend you remove your e-mail address or risk having it picked up by a spammer.

Microsoft applications do not work on BlackBerrys.

If you are trying to open a Word document you can download and try "Docs To Go" from App World.

Not on 8700..... (App world isn't supported on track-wheel models).

I tried on my old 8700g while my wife was using it temporarily.

To OP, for what it's worth, OS 4.5 is available for the 8700, and I think the free version of doc's to go is included in the device software package--at least it was for 4.5 on the 8820. Not 100% sure if it is in the package for the 8700, but take a look.
