I have been using the podcast application from rim quite successfully with one small issue.

It seem randomly podcast will start playing all by themselves. Some even on my phone seems the start the podcast playing while it is holstered.

Has anybody been having this issue? Any ideas on what I should be checking?

Just found a related thread: 228799-media-player-starts-playing-randomly

Seems to be the same behavior.

I cant post the link due to my low post count.

I have been using the Podcast since almost it came out and like it very much. But didn't face this issue. My setting: only download when WiFi is availble and don't do anything when new podcast is availble. I manually download them when I want.

There are on two things I've encountered that are remotely related. One is if I've left the media player, I sometimes accidentally press the mute button and podcast will start. But I figure that's not a bug.

The other is when using the ear buds. Sometimes if I tug on the cord or bump the jack it will pause the media player. That's irritating.

But I've never had the media player just start on its own.

FWIW I most often have my podcast app set to download anytime, wifi or mobile network, whether on charge or not. Sometimes I set it to only download when charging. A lot of times I'll have the media player open because I've paused a podcast to pick it up later.

What I have seen. The Podcast doesn't close unless you hit the menu key and choose close, using the back key does not close the pod cast application.

Since the pod cast is still in the background hitting the mute key will start it. (as mentioned aiharkness)

Is it possible the mute key is being hit? If so that would cause the pod cast to start playing (since it may already be running the background.)

I think that's intention, when you unplug anything from the Aux port it pauses the media.. I actually like that
8830 -> 8330 -> 9550 -> 9650
Just think about how far BlackBerries have come from then till now... And what else is coming.
