Default Dialing 4.1 problems

Please Login to Remove!

Pre handheld OS 4.1, I could scroll down to the recently used column and then select the names by letters and if i scrolled up i could dial by number.

Now on OS 4.1, i can only dial by number. Anyway to fix that?

On the 8700 you hold down the green phone (send) key for a couple of seconds to dial by name. Press once quickly to dial by number. Not sure if all phones are the same.

I'm experiencing the same thing on my 7250 with the 4.1 OS. This is actually a really fundamental change in my mind. I used to be able to place a call without ever touching the scroll-wheel ... so far the only work-around I can find is to dial from the address book.

Default Dial by name

The loss of dial by name feature is obnoxious. What were they thinking? Someone at RIM better pick up on this quickly before 4.1 goes mainstream or the people with models prior to the 8700 are going to riot. Why did they change this? The actually removed a very critical feature!

I am not deploying 4.1 any further until this is addressed. My 2 cents.

Dont hold your breath because in the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes.

The best way to fix this is to go back to 4.0.2.

I did and life is much better for it.

Not having dial by name on a device with a full keyboard is stupid beyond words.

IN general if you ask a questions ONCE it is enough. Twice is way more than enough. I think this is 4 times already.
