Default Easier way to select a phone number to dial?

Please Login to Remove!

This is on an 8700c.

When I bring up a person's contact in the Address Book, the context menu gives me the option to call that person - but it does not let me specify which of their numbers to call unless I first click on "View".

Is there any way to go right to the mobile number?

(Once again, I'm comparing to the Treo, which gives you the option to dial any one of a person's numbers right from the main screen.)

Thanks

It should be able to do what you describe, not sure why not. When I call my wife it prompts me to choose which number to use. Or, I can select Call Work, Call Mobile, Call Home as well.

My 7100 does the same thing, have to go to view to see all the numbers.

The way I do it, is seperated the contacts. It now says "Name - H/W/M" next to the people in my address book. Sure, it does clutter it a bit; but I got used to just holding the send key for about 3 seconds, then typing the first letter of the persons name.

What exactly are you doing when you call your wife? Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

On my 7105t when in address book if I select a person with multiple numbers and select "call that person" then I get an option box asking which number to call.

If when in address book I select the name and then select "View" I get all the phone #'s in the next screen. Picking one of the numbers brings up another dialogue wherein it asks if it should call that number. However, the other number options are also listed with it. Can't miss.

It works fine for me. I am running OS 4.1 but I'm reasonably sure it was that way in OS 4.0 also

It does give that option when you are looking at the address book if a contact has more than one phone number, when you select "Call John Smith" etc, the next prompt will show you all the numbers and ask your to select the one you want to dial.
