No guarantees it won't destroy your BlackBerry.

Hong Kong CSL released 4.1.0.258 for the 8700g. Based on historical precedent, software should be compatible across all 8700 series by using the VENDOR.xml deletition trick.

For the link, see the Hong Kong CSL link in the freshly updated BlackBerry OS 4.x Download FAQ.

8700 Apps 4.1.0.258 from Hong Kong CSL

Anyone tried this? Any changes?

I guess my severe disclaimer scared away people ... It's much safer than upgrading OS 3.7 to OS 4.x anyway (and the problem reports you sometimes hear)

I loaded it about 5 minutes after you posted it. No problems found. Can't say what, if anything, has changed. No problems at all.

I loaded the Vodafone package as soon as it was available, and I've seen nothing but improvement over the current Cingular and Rogers loads. Not to mention the ability to have the O2 and Vodafone themes (my two favorites).

I've loaded the vodafone package and don't see the o2 or vodafone themes... did you do anything special to get them? Maybe i need to javaloader wipe first?

edit: nevermind, edited the blackberry.alx file as listed here:
