I am fairly new to RIM Blackberries in general and I upgraded to 4.1 software because.. heck i just did.

Now I keep getting 'warning' messages on most applications on the RIM asking me to allow socket connections and the like for each application. Is there a way to turn this 'security' feature off? (apps like AIM, and Piconews, etc)

Go into your security settings and see if you have the option to turn off the firewall. To be honest, its better having it enabled rather than disabled (just my opinion). You could always just mark the option to not ask you again when those connections are being established, though.

There is an app on your heldheld that is trying to make a outbound connection and your device is trying to warn you. do what jibi said, he is right.

well i kept getting that message on my 7105t everytime i wanted to connect to AOL messenger and when i selected 'use sms' to connect, the app just hangs and doesn't log me in. is there a way to reset so i can get my IM working again?
