Default 8700 Locking during phone calls (it shouldn't)

Hope this is the correct venue to post a suggestion (or bug, depending on your view).

Using an 8700 v4.10.194 (platform 2.0.0.90)

One thing I would like to see change, or at least an option to change under preferences, would be the automatic locking of the unit during phone calls.

For security purposes, I have my unit set to auto-lock after 1 minute of inactivity, and to lock on holstering.

Let's say I grab my 8700, unlock it, and make a phone call. Now 4 minutes into the phone call, I want to look at my calendar to schedule an appointment. I press my front macro key (which I have assigned to the calendar), but nothing happens. Press 6 more times and still nothing happens...

Obviously I have learned that the unit must be auto-locking itself, because if you press the ESC button, you are given the option of unlocking the unit. Auto-locking the unit in the middle of a voice call is a burden.

I would suggest the following:

1) If the unit is locked, and you start pressing keys, display something that say "Unit is locked. Unlock?" I figured this out, but how many people would struggle for a while?

2) Don't auto-lock the unit during a a voice call; (a) after all, if you are conversing, the unit is in use (i.e. not inactive), so by definition of inactivity, the unit shouldn't be auto-locking, and (b) Since the auto-lock feature is for security, I can't imagine a scenario where you would lose the unit in the middle of a phone call and that your data could be compromised.

Thoughts?

PS. If this bug has already been reported, sorry for duplicate posting. I did search but didn't find anything.

It is possible that the unit is not locking during calls, but rather the front/center macro button (which I have assigned to the calendar) doesn't work all the time. I am going to test further and post results.
