| n00b question regarding Blackberry Please Login to Remove! Hello all,
My apologies for what I am sure is a very basic question, but when I used the search function, I did not find a clear answer to my question.
I have recently been offered a Blackberry to replace my broken phone by a friend who has an extra one (he just upgraded to the 8700 from his 7100). While I would like to use the BB for it's push e-mail capabilities, the company I work for has strict policies as to who can be added to our BES for security reasons (please do not ask me why - I have no idea!).
Anyway, I was wondering if I can use the BB as a phone, and syncronize to my Lotus Notes via data cable (calendar, e-mail, to-do's), similar to a pda? Also, am I correct in assuming that the phone would still be able to access the web if I had a data plan?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
