Exclamation Desktop Redirector Problem

I have a bit of a problem that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me resolve.

I have a Blackberry 7290 registered with Cingular. I had been using the Blackberry Desktop Redirector to forward mail at my company to my handheld. I leave my notebook up and running and the status of the BDR looks fine.

However, recently - like within the last few days - BDR has stopped working as it did. Mail delivery is sporatic; sometimes it delivers, sometimes it doesn't, other times I get the same message multiple times.

After digging into it, I've noticed that the Pending count doesn't decrease on successful delivery of mail to the handheld. If I restart the BDR, the queue tends to clear but then I end up running into the same problem.

I have tried uninstalling all Blackberry software from my notebook, running DBClean against the Exchange mailbox, and then reinstalling. The same problem persists.

After I have turned on debugging for the BDR, I have noticed that a delivery confirmation isn't being received by the BDR from the handheld.

Has anyone seen this behavior before and might someone know how to resolve it? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the Blackberry and the PC need to be synchronized using the DeskTop Manager program.

Default Solution Found

Here is an update just so no one who might have been wondering about this is kept in suspense.

The culprit was a PC-based firewall application that our company installs on all clients. It manages traffic permissions on a per-application basis and the firewall was set to allow the BDR traffic after ASKING. The firewall never did ask, which is why no one caught this - I'm guessing bug.

Needless-to-say, the solution was to specifically set traffic to/from the BDR to allow. Once that setting change was made, everything started flowing as usual.
