Default Problem with browser config.

Please Login to Remove!

When I go into "setup internet email" I get the message

"Unable to open a POP Context to the following APN

wap.voicestream.com

This may be happening because the currently selected Browser configuration is not compatible with the current network."

I am using a 7105t on T-Mobile. I have added "wap.voicestream.com" to the APN left the username and password blank. I have also tried leaving the APN blank. I have reset the browser config to defaults. I have switched browser config to Microsoft IE. Still no go.

!!!BUT!! I can surf the internet throught the browser icon, just not the "setup internet email" icon, to access my email setup...

What gives????

Default question about email from multiple accounts

So I'm new here, and new to Blackberry in general, so this might be simple but I can't seem to figure it out on my own. I have an 8700g through TMobile, which I use for work and personal use. My primary email account is a web-based Outlook account (.edu address). I'm having trouble configuring my .edu address and my school will not cooperate with me on getting it set up. Is there any way to do this myself? It also will not let me send messages because it states it is not Java-enabled. Please help.

Another question: is there any way to add a custom ring tone to an entire group? I would like to have all contacts in my "business" category have the same ring tone which is distinct from my "personal" ring tone. So far I have just been assigning the same ring tone to each individual business contact but if I want to change this business ring tone it will be cumbersome. Anyone know of a trick to simplify this? Thanks in advance!

Can't help with the email question but for the ringtone exception. You can create an New exception from the Profile Menu, Name itn set the Use Profile seting to determine how it responds, set the Tone you want it to use, the start adding your multiple contacts you want in it. You have to add each contact individually but once created you can easily edit it. Don't forget to save on exit. Might even want to save periodically if your list is a long one.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much. I just did that for my active profile. So if I move to "loud" profile this would not work, right? So I'd have to keep it in active profile I guess. I had started setting certain business contacts with their own custom tune and it added them in exception. Which one do you recommend? I'm having trouble identifying the advantages of individually selecting ring tones or doing what you recommended. Thanks again for your help! I'm learning!

I recommend using the profiles New exception as you can change the Use Profile option to do what ever you want the exception Tone to do. Always use a specific profile, or follow the active profile. I set mine to follow the active Profile as there are times when It is not appropriate for any tone to play.

Hope this helps.
