Default Sync with Multiple PCs?

Please Login to Remove!

I use a PC at work and one at home. I'd like to be able to sync my Blackberry with both. Can the desktop software be used on two PCs and will the blackberry keep both of them in sync the same way that the palm pilot does?

I sync with Groupwise at work and Outlook at home. You just have to configure your PIM so one doesn't undo what the other did.

Works, kind-of for me, both PC's using Intellisync. Unfortumately not all items always sync unless I force a complete re-sync. I think somewhere there's a flag in the BB against each item which says 'already synced' once it's been done once. Intellisynce normally relies on this and so doesn't sync this item again

Forcing a 'slow/full sync' by editing the PIM set up (even changing nothing) seems to make it force ingoring this flag once. I would like to know how I can make it do a slow/full sync by default to avoid this issue.

OK, Sounds like its worth a whirl. But, I have a week long business trip starting tomorrow morning and would not like to mess things up while I'm away for so long. Therefore, I think I'll wait till I return to try it.

In the meantime, perhaps a few more questions fall out of the above advice discussion and discussion.

1. How reliable is the desktop built in "backup" function? Will it also re-activate a completely blank BlackBerry automatically?

2. If I am using a corporate enterprise server with Lotus Notes, does installing the desktop on another PC at home syncing with Outlook Express (or preferrably the Palm Desktop - but I doubt that is in the cards) require any special setup to avoid messing up the corporate setup? I'd hate to accidentally re-activate the device. I've heard horror stories from colleagues about that....

3. Does anyone know the link to RIMs instructions (if any) for setting up a second desktop for an already activated Berry?

1) If you install the BB Desktop software first, then the Handheld OS second, a blank BlackBerry will work.

2) I am not familiar with the BES right now but I know installing the Desktop Manager does not cause problems if it's installed on 2 different computers.

3) For a BlackBerry that is already activated, Desktop Manager should recognize a new BlackBerry (with the Handheld OS installed) as soon as it is connected to the PC via USB cable.
