I run desktop to load up when I boot up the PC but I keep getting error messages and asking do you want to debug or send a report to Microsoft. After a lot of clicking to close it down I reboot it and it appears OK.

I get the same error message occasionally. The Desktop Manager opens then closes. I sent the error report to Microsoft and got a reply stating that it's RIM's problem and they are aware if it. It's strange because it doesn't happen all the time and, as soon as it closes I can double click it and it opens again and works fine. I'm wondering if it has something to do with other apps that are loading at the same time.
