Default Simular issues...... - 11-16-2007, 06:40 PM

Hi,

My issue is with the memopad and the calendar
I think that the issue is with the device (8700 newest T-Mo 4.2 software)

just gives that error
among more errors this is the most recent string:

Quote:
18:20:04.158: Translation Unit Status: User=20397853, rc=75, Phase=30, TrErr=4019, SysErr=0 at D:\TEMPDIR_5154\se_5x_engine\ilx32\XLATEV3.cpp line 490

Fri Nov 16 18:20:04 2007: Error 15050.15050 at D:\TEMPDIR_5154\se_5x_engine\ilsync\XLATE.CPP line 2893
Fri Nov 16 18:20:04 2007: Error 15050.15050 at D:\TEMPDIR_5154\se_5x_engine\ilsync\XLATE.CPP line 2465
Fri Nov 16 18:20:04 2007: Error 15050.15050 at D:\TEMPDIR_5154\se_5x_engine\ilsync\XLATE.CPP line 3689
i can read the app data on the device, but not write to it
i deleted a couple meg ringtone cuz i thought it might be a capacity issue, but no help.
I'm restoring the device right now to the backup I just made, but dont think that will help......

Default Another Solution - 01-24-2008, 12:12 PM

I have struggled with this at least three times in the last 6 months. I think there is a bigger issue that bad or missing characters. Here's the way I fixed it:

1. Backup you device
2. Wipe Device
3. Go through set-up wizard (I probably could have skipped this)
4. Restore device
5. Synchronize

This took about 10 minutes and now everything is fine. Since I didn't change anything in my address book, that error was misleading and sent me on a 2 day goose chase.

Default I recieved the same error - unable to write or update application data - 04-16-2008, 02:06 PM

This occurred when syncing with my calendar? Has anyone else had the same problem? How does one resolve this?

What helped me get rid of "Unable to write or update data" was doing a hard reset on the BB. Instructions on this available at BlackBerry Technical Solution Center 141&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=31750759&stateId=1 %200%2031756028

Thumbs up 08-27-2008, 12:30 AM

While trying to update an Address Book entry (in my BlackBerry), I got the "Address updated externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed." message (in my BlackBerry).

While trying to sync, Desktop Manager showed the "Error Encountered 0x80040FB3, Check Documentation" message (and the sync failed).

When I fixed the problem in my BlackBerry device (by pulling out the battery), the sync started to work.

The KB14818 Doc (in the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center) should be updated to contemplate this.

Mauricio.-

If its reoccuring it may be the actual data within Outlook.
Enable advanced logging for Intellisync next time it happens and see what record(s) it doesn't like.

Are you on a BES?
Whats that?
Ok, you're not...

Didn't know what that was until I remembered what AT&T had me do to get my service up -- reboot -- turn off BB, take out battery -- install battery -- start BB, resync -- problem solved!!!!!

I hate computers!!!!!
I have a 8830 World Edition; and after trying all the other suggestions, this fixed my problem. Reboot the BB! Yea, thanks.

Thanks for the discussion. Pulling the battery for a reset solved my calendar sync problem too.

Default had an @ sign in address - 03-25-2009, 08:09 PM

I had this problem for a long time. Finally, I deleted an address in outlook that had an @ sign in the address -- it said 1234 Pine St @ Gough

I can't find anything else wrong wth the record, and it synced fine once I removed it, so I'm guessing that was it!

Hmmm... having all kinds of problems with a Storm...

First, the Service Books vanished... No reason... But Email was still arriving in the "messages" folder as recieved by "unknown"...

User can't sync Contacts or Calendar - they worked last week, then it all went away...

I looked at the logfile and found "Failed to add/delete/modify record on the device" line in the calendar section of the sync. I guess I'll look to see if anything weird is in there.

Update -

So, it's clean from the log standpoint - indicated it doesn't need to update anything.

Still not working though...

Default same issue... - 08-27-2009, 05:47 PM

I just got a replacement 8310 for ATT b/c mine was stolen. This is my 4th bb curve and I've never had the issues I'm having now. I have over 2000 contacts since merging my Palm database w/ outlook years ago. NEVER have I experienced these issues and after 5 hrs of looking through 2000 contacts I'm aggrevated and ready to ditch bberry all together since I also have an iphone.

I kept getting hung up on 124. Now getting hung on 414 and been here for hours....

With the new software and firmware...is there another round of steps I can go to so that I can see which files are blocking me?

Thanks in advance.
