Default How do I stop a flood of blackberry network messages?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using the Desktop Redirector and it's worked fine for me for months. Currently using desktop and handheld version 4.1 with Verizon 7250.

So today, all of a sudden, I'm just getting a flood of the [email address] messages. Hundreds/thousands of them thus far. They come in, and the desktop redirector dutifully detects them and deletes them, but why am I getting so many in the first place? I have only had a few messages this morning, all of which were successfully forwarded to the handheld.

I've tried resetting the handheld, restarting the redirector, etc., and I can't get it to stop. Any ideas?

Thanks!

- stop the redirector
- delete the service book on your BB associated with the redirector
- restart the redirector and resend service book

I assume the service books for those are Desktop [CMIME] and Desktop [CICAL] or something like that... I deleted those. I stopped redirection, even took my blackberry off wireless. Then did a sync with the desktop which put those service books back on the handheld. Restarted wireless, and the flood has now resumed.

Okay, I'm getting desperate now. I am attempting to take it entirely off of the whole redirection mess. I deleted the desktop service books, uninstalled the redirector/desktop, installed the desktop in pure internet-only mode, synchronized, resent my service books from the Internet side... and I'm still getting slammed! How do I get away from the redirector spam??!!!

That's a good start to normalize the messages. Stop your desktop manager.
Then in Options->Advanced Options then ServiceBooks, delete all of your service books/addresses.

Then Options->Advanced Options then Host Routing Table. Click trackwheel and select Register Now.

Thanks for the help... spent hours with VZW and then Blackberry tech support before they acknowledged that it was a server-side issue. Somehow it got taken care of the next day. I think there was a rogue thread on the server somewhere trying to send me something... I'm not sure what caused it or how it finally ended.
