Default display SSL certificate - 03-11-2007, 11:16 AM

It's great that the internet browser supports https, but unless I can examine the certificate, how can I be sure of the site I am connected to? Is there a way to do this?

Note: if the certificate is untrusted you do get have the option to view it.

I have followed every step that is listed in the first post and I'm still not having any luck. Heres what I have

Blackberry 7250
Verizon
OS 4.1.0.268

I have tried rebooting/resending service boooks/register my host routing table. I've done about everything but call Verizon. I really don't have the time or feel like holding to talk to someone. Does anyone else have an idea. I need my browser back...

In Options-Advanced-TCP, I can only put the APN, username and pswd (?)

Many thanks for your help.

this speeds up the loading time of pages on my blackberry broswer so much!!

to load news.google.com -> 2 mins 17 seconds regularly

now it's down to 5 seconds, i don't know why, but it's fast as heck, i love it.

If Mark OR anyone could answer this simply. I came here with some simple questions, and after reading the above I think I understand the basics considering I am a novice.

I came here planning on asking which browser (which I later learned should be 'browser emulation') is the best. Then I learn that one may be the best....at emulating....but the slowest...in speed... of the three.

So I must decide which I want. Blackberry will be the fastest but IE will be the best emulator, correct. Or I may have that backward. And then how does IE pocket come in? I believe, and tell me if I am correct, that it is IE, except that when a mobile page is available it will display that page.

Now onto the last thing that Mark touched on, although I think I think that my purpose for coming here was answered. I think we can go thru BES. Even if we don't have a big corporate one, use IP/TCP thru Tmo for me and it will do what? Do I understand correctly that one of the befefits is speeding up the browser?

Now lets say I want moderate speed but I want my sports pages and tables to look as they should, I should prolly do as ESPN recommended and allow scripts and html tables right? Although when I do any of that, I can never get the full page with the full pic on orioles.com that I got on the Dash.

Thanks again for spending any of your time reading that!!
And even more thanks to you if you are able to clear up what I have wrong, or send any helpful hints

This web browser FAQ is actually a little outdated now - I should probably remove it.

The state of BlackBerry has changed a lot since this FAQ was first created more than two years ago, and having good web browsing on a BlackBerry is much easier and more universal now. No need to get a BES anymore for good web browsing, either. And we've also got Opera Mini now too (With desktop style layout and zooming capabilities).

Thanks,
Mark Rejhon

Default Browser does not refresh - 01-14-2008, 01:30 PM

I visit one web page fairly often, but my bb browser does not seem to get a fresh copy, even when I hit "refresh" - I have even deleted the cache, and still seems to be pulling an old copy of the page.

Opera Mini does not have this problem. Thanks. I'm on an 8310/att.

To get the best viewing experience on your BlackBerry, make sure you
have CSS/Style Sheets, HTML, Javascript, screen, and Tables enabled on your device.

You need go directly Select browser from homescreen, then following the instruction settings of below:

To check:
1. Press the BlackBerry button (seven black dots)
2. Select "Options" from the menu.
3. Select "General Properties"
4. Change Default Browser to "Internet Browser"
5. Press the BlackBerry button (seven black dots)
6. Select "Save Options"
7. Select "Browser Configuration"
8. Highlight the check boxes next to
—¦ Support HTML tables
—¦ Support Javascript
—¦ Use Background and Foreground colors
—¦ Use Background Images
—¦ Support CSS/Style Sheets
—¦ Style Sheets media type = screen
—¦ Show images = WML & HTML Pages
—¦ Emulation Mode = BlackBerry
—¦ Content Mode = WML & HTML
9. Press the BlackBerry button (seven black dots)
10. Select "Save Options"
11. Select the back button and reload your website

I changed browser settings as above following instructions. Now you look that above of screenshoot comparisons are full html, javascript, background & Foreground colors, and very crisp screen!

I hope this litte help! ;)

Please note that BlackBerry was working fine when we created a mailbox in (BES) . But it didn't work when the email-box is on the Main Mail server

Also be noted that we have a BES in Dubai and it is configured the same way (email-boxes on the main server)

As per Dubai Team recommendation . we would like to Reinstall BES once again . Or Please advice if you have another solution
