Default Error 1720 with 4.0 for TMO on a Win98SE computer

I've tried everything in the book to install 4.0 onto my Win98SE laptop. (Don't laugh, there are non-economic reasons for not upgrading this computer).

I was able to install 4.0 on my office desktop xp pro w/ np. Same on my home desktop xp pro with no problem.

I have tried safe mode, different user settings, etc. Same error message. I am aware that there is a fix for Windows 2000 and XP, but that won't help on the Win98SE machine.

Each time I get the Error 1720 and then it backs out of the install process.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The TMO people couldn't provide any help on this one.

I assume your talking about desktop manager 4.0. I'll try it monday on one of my win98 test machines and see what happens.
