Unhappy Trouble synching BB with MS Outlook Contacts

I am trying to synch MS outlook 2003 with my existing BB for the first time. Calendar, Tasks and Memo work fine. When the address book on the handheld starts scanning records, it seems to work fine - scanning 820 records in my BB. When software starts scanning MS Outlook - the software starts scanning over 230,000 contacts and cannot complete the synch, basically crashing. In reality there are only around 800 contacts in MS outlook. Has anyone had this problem?

Don't know if this is your problem but I do know that if Contact has any blank records or files with no names, it will not sync correctly or will error out.

If doing a sync for the first time, do not sync but do a an export or import. It's in the desktop software under configure pim.

If all the data is in the BB, do an export. If in Outlook, do an import.

After you do this the first time, re-configure to sync. Been awhile for me, but believe there is an option to import/export the first time then it automatically returns to sync.
