Angry Desktop Manager Not Connected.... - 07-29-2006, 11:36 AM

Ok...

My wife is letting me use her BlackBerry 7130 to connect to my laptop so I can surf the internet had high speeds...

And yes I have searched and researched my problem....

Let me brain dump on what I know and tried...

Device is a Verizon 7130E

BackBerry Desktop Software 4.1.08

Device shows up in Device manager with no errors...

I have tried turning off power management for USB ports..

I have tried every USB port...

This works fine in my wifes laptop... But I need to have it work on my laptop...

I disabled all software from startup...

In Desktop Manager is says disconnected.. I click on options/connection settings and choose USB as my connection.. I click on detect and it comes up with Device not found....

Windows XP Pro SP2...

Firewall is disabled...

All virus software and firewalls are not currently running....

I am at a loss for what to do....

I would go into device manager and uninstall the BlackBerry Device under USB Controllers.

If that doesn't work, I would try uninstalling the desktop software and reinstalling.

HTH,

Jon

Actually I have tried both of those solutions..

I have even created another Logon profile....

And still no luck....

I wish the Desktop Manager would tell me a little more than just that the "device not found".

Thanks

Are you using a port replicator or docking station? If so, connect the BlackBerry directly to the laptop's USB port.
