Hello,

B/B newb here, just purchaed a 7750 on the Bell Mobility network (I'm from Ontario, Canada).

I've read, re-read and re-re-read the 5x ways to get email FAQ article, just want to make sure I'm understanding.
I use a hotmail addy for work (long story - I work from home alot and our domain provider doesn't provide an outgoing server, or something like that). So I started using hotmail with Outlook Express.

Currently I have entered my hotmail account into the Bell BIS site. Its working but the 15 minute delay is a pain.
I suppose I could use software, my home laptop and my office computer both run 24 hours a day. I travel a lot for work though and I'm worried about a power failure or crash.

I have also sent my handheld a "service pack" from the bell site.

This is where I get confused, I do have a bell.blackberry.net address but I don't want to give all of my network my new addy.

Any suggestions?

Edit:

I just noticed if I send emails from the B/B they are received instantly. Still no incoming messages received.
Also clicking on the blue B/B icon "E-mail settings" gets my an error message,
"Unable to connect using the current security settings. Please contact your service provider"

What a nark, replying to my own thread.
I found this:
"The free Hotmail that many of us use is unable to integrate, you must subscribe to MSN Hotmail Plus in order to integrate your Hotmail account with your BlackBerry account. If you attempt to integrate a regular Hotmail account, the following error message appears:

Cannot integrate the email account! Please check your information and try again.

The extra charge of $19.95 is very reasonable, with Hotmail plus you get 2 gigs of space, ability to send larger files, and the ability to integrate with Outlook and subsequently your Blackberry. If you’re not a fan of paying for email, then you can always sign up to Google’s Gmail which you can setup to integrate with your Blackberry."

Now by the sounds of it, this may not be the case. I know any new hotmail account from I believe 8-12 months or so will not work with Outlook. The hotmail account in question is 6 years old and is used only with Outlook Express. I don't think upgrading has any specific Blackberry features, it just allows new Hotmail accounts to be Outlook useable, meaning you can use the Mail Connector/desktop forwarding?

Is that right? Close? Way off?
