Default desktop manager doesn't open - 08-17-2006, 11:41 PM

i have an 8700c unblocked and keep trying to run desktop manager. everytime i open the application it loads and then disappears. the icon is in the system tray along with an extra icon that looks like a bb device with an "x" across it. as soon as the mouse hovers over the bb icon it disappears. the only thing i can open after that is the desktop manager properties. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the program at least 4 times correctly.( installing the desktop software and then the handheld software) somebody help

BTW the bb doesn't show any pc/device connected screen when connected to the usb port on the back of my pc

Do you have the latest DM software. You can check RIM.com for the latest.

Those are HH software links. Search BB.com for "clean uninstall". Perform a clean uninstall of DTM and THEN reinstall if.

If your having the same issue after that, try disabling everything in ur startup under start > run > msconfig
