I had a user come to me today with an issue. They have a browser link on their desktop for Telenav GPS Navigation. When you click on it, it opens up a browser window ant takes you to the Telenav site. The user states he is not sure how it got there. I looked at it for a while and nowhere did I find an option to delete the Icon. I know that I can hide it, but would like to know where it came from and how to remove it. There is no trace of it in the options menu under Applications. Couldn't find anything searching the forums. Any ideas?

We are seeing the same thing on our 7520's and it's causing some confusion in the user population. I believe this is being pushed by Nextel in order to drive subscriptions to the TeleNav service, but I'd like to know how to prevent it from being pushed to our devices and/or how to remove it across the board.

I have had the same problem with the Telenav app., though you cannot delete it you can hide the application icon.
Scroll over the Telenav or any icon you wish to hide then hold down the half moon key and click your wheel from there you will have the option to hide or move.

It is not an app. You can hide it icon but not delete it.

To remove the shortcut from your home screen, go to options, Advanced Options, Service Book, and remove the one that says TeleNav. I hate getting stuff without asking for it...!

I contacted both Nextel and RIM again on the issue and pushed for an answer. What I found out is that it's an advertising project by Nextel. Any time that a phone re-registers on the network it sends it down. The sollution above will work for deleting the shortcut, but the next time you power off your device for a couple minutes or the battery dies and you have to re-register, it will show up again. I voiced my disapproval with Nextel, and advise all of you to do the same. For those of us supporting numerous devices, this only causes more work for us. In the meantime, I have hidden the icon. That way, when you re-register with the network, it sees it is already installed and does not put another link on the BB.

If you are managing a BES you can block the TeleNav push.

We are experiencing the same issues here. You say this can be bloacked through BES but I believe in order to do so we need the cod files. Looking for an answer how in detail, thanks
