Just got a new 7130g. Installed Desktop Manager 4.1.1 from CD that came with it. Installation seemed to complete ok. But when I clicked on the icon on desktop nothing happened. Same if I clicked on the .exe file itself.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, same result. Uninstalled and installed 4.2 that I downloaded from bb.com. Exact same result.

Did a clean uninstall by using Add/remove programs, then deleting all the RIM folders and reg entries, etc. Restarted and reinstalled 4.2. Again it just won't start!

Any one got any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks!

Thanks I'll try some of the solutions you linked to later. I got the software installed on a second PC with no problems and go my address book onto the BB. Meant installing Outlook and transferring all my data from PC1 to PC2 as well which was a bit messy.

What email option did you select when you installed the Desktop manager?

Internet mail. We don't have a BES server
