I searched but coulnt find anything.

I attempted to upgrade my 7100g from version 4.0 to the newest one because my version doesnt support adp ringtones.

When I try to update it goes all the way until "wait for device initialization" step and then it hangs up and give me a error saying it could not finish. All the steps before this go fast but when i get to this step it takes 30 minutes for the green status bar to fill up then it fails.

So i had to cancel the setup and my phone now says on the front "connecting to desktop" I cant even use it. I am now attempting to use the backup restore but the device seems to be having trouble connecting to the desktop software.

I figured it out, I guess.

The restore option would not work so what you have to do is go to the application loader. Just follow the steps.

You will get to a part that says something like "erase all app data" and "erase all phone data". Check both of those boxes.

It will erase all the data and update the phone to the current system.

This was using desktop software 4.2 and updating the 7100g.
