The Calendar app seems to cause the most problems, so here's a thread for solutions to them.
| When calendar items aren't syncing with Outlook - whether in a BES setup or standalone syncing to Outlook, it can be caused by conflicts within the Outlook calendar. Normally these won't occur, but in an Exchange environment where more than one person has (write) access to a calendar it's not unusual. The problem with them is that they don't appear in the most common calendar views in Outlook, not reported in Outlook 2003's Conflicts search folders, and ScanPST won't necessarily fix them. |
The only reliable way to detect and fix them is to use the Events list view of Calendar items in Outlook - but make sure you turn ALL filters off so you're sure you see ALL ITEMS in the calendar. Items which have a conflict will appear with the icon in the left column as either crossed yellow swords or a yellow diamond (depending on the version of Outlook you're using). Simply double click the item and a warning will appear with two or more entries. Simply select one (the one with the latest modification date) as the correct one to clear the conflict.
Once all conflicts have been cleared, you should see a lot of activity on your BlackBerry - it's re-syncing your entire calendar! Once that's done create and delete test entries on both your BlackBerry and in Outlook to verify the problem has resolved.
| In any BES environment, if your Calendar isn't syncing, go to Options --> Advanced Options --> Service Books, and delete the Desktop[CMIME] and Desktop[CICAL] service books and either have the BES Administrator resend them, or if you have a computer with Desktop Manager (4.1 or higher) set up with the connection to the mail service, simply connect the BlackBerry - the service books will automatically reload.
If you've come across any other solutions for Calendar problems, please let me know either in this thread or by PM. I'll add them to the head of the thread (and make sure you're given credit of course!).
