Default Vista USB Driver Install 7130c

Please Login to Remove!

I cannot, after spending all evening, install the BB desktop software on Vista RC1 Build 5728. 4.1, 4.2, Device Mgr and then 4.2, all options. Removes, reboots, registry cleans, plugging in the device before install, after install, you name it, I've tried every option I could think of - it will not install the driver or recognize the phone.

Does ANYONE have any suggestions?

Thanks!

David

Nope!! There have been a few threads on here about getting it to work. I'm running RC1 build 5600 and have not been able to get 4.1 or 4.2 working. There are also issues with Desktop Manager working with Outlook 2007 on XP machines. I'm constantly keeping my ear to the ground on this one but as of yet there's nothing I've heard. If I do get something I'll be sure to let you know!

Smile Got it to work!

Just had a wild hair and tried connecting using - Bluetooth! It worked with 4.2 desktop. I'm restoring to it right now.

What I did.

Installed the 4.2 device manager. Installed the 4.2 desktop manager. Added the 7130 to the MS BT list. It asked for a driver and failed to install it. Went to the BB Desktop, enabled BT support and was able to add the device. The 7130 asked to accept the connection, I did, and we were off and running!

YEAH!

Unhappy Vista not supported by BB desktop software

Blackberry web site clearly states that desktop software is not supported on VISTA.

Default I know

I know that it's not supported; that was the problem. Works great now. In fact, with the latest build, BBD 4.2 installs and sees my 7130c with the USB as well.
