Default using blackberry messenger internationally

hey guys, new poster here, big time lurker. so my question is pretty simple. do any of you guys know if i am able to use blackberry messenger with someone who has a blackberry abroad (i.e. i am in nyc, they are in south america)? my father lives in ecuador and his business has been approached to set up a BES (blackberry service just started in ecuador not too long ago). anyways, i just thought that it would be an easier way to stay in touch, since i spend most of my time at the hospital (im in medical school, wish me luck!). hope somebody knows the answer. my inclination was yes, since this BBmessenger is simply a pin-based service...but i don't know. thanks guys.

I'd say you should be able to since like you said it's a PIN based service. As long as both of you are in an area with BB service and have data plans, it shouldn't be a problem.
