Default [Help - Error 507, can't javaloader wipe!] Will not accept software. 7280

Please Login to Remove!

I cannot get my 7280 to accept the software. It has a 507 error when I turn it on. and when I start the App Loader it tells me that No system software was found for your handheld, although the correct handheld software is installed on the computer. When I try and choose the apps manually, it says that there is no additional applications designed for your handheld were found. I've ran javaloader with the wipe option and I get:

RIM Wireless Handheld Java Loader

Connected
Disconnected

It doesn't help anything though. Any help would be great!

I've edited your topic title to try to attract more attention to your emergency. The inability to do a "javaloader -usb wipe" can sometimes mean a defective BlackBerry, but let's hope that there's a way to solve this.

Try bypassing your USB hub -- try a javaloader wipe from a different computer -- See if that works. You may need to install BlackBerry drivers using a different BlackBerry, before plugging in the Error 507 BlackBerry...

Also, can you tell us what happened to cause an Error 507 to show up?

OK - a 507 means there is no software on the BB. So Javaloader can't wipe anything since it is already wiped.

If you have already loaded the correct handheld OS onto your PC, you must locate and delete a file named "VENDOR.XML" on your C: drive.

Then connect the BB and restart Desktop Manager. The OS and applications should now be loaded automatically.

Deleting the vendor.xml worked like a charm. I had read about it, but for some reason it didn't cross my mine to dump that file.

Great to hear that this has worked! Next time I hear about an Error 507, I'll refer to this thread.

Like NJ said, 507 is no OS installed on the handheld. That's an easy problem to take care of. However, the "no system software found" is probably the result of downloading the handheld software from a different carrier than the one the BlackBerry is on. Ie. Cingular BlackBerry but downloaded software from Verizon. Deleting the Vendor.xml file will allow you to load this software, but may not put on some vendor specific settings.

I'm having the same problem. I've deleted vendor.xml, but still cannot complete Application Loader - it gets nearly to the end, but when loading application modules, stops and gives a fatal error message.

Help!

Help!

What version of DM are you running and have you tried a complete un-install and re-install?

I'm using 4.0.1.10. And I've done several un-installs and re-installs. No luck.

Hi, does anyone else have any ideas to try? I do not have a vendor.xml file on the machine in question, and am using desktop manager v3.6.

Any ideas how to get software back on the device?

It's a 7290 on the cingular network, thanks!!!

I loaded the newest cingular DM software, 4.00.33. I still cannot load the software, the app loader says there is no software available to install. i've wiped it with the javaloader but it doesn't appear to make a difference.

Can this be a bad device? i'd love to know what goes 'bad'

You've only installed the desktop manager, not the applications for the phone. Go back to the link and download the rest.

Smile Thank you everyone

My wife and I are on vacation. We each have a blackberry 8700c. For some unexplained reason, her blackberry software crashed and she received an "error 507." I cannot thank all of you enough for the information you have shared on this thread. We followed the information provided and within the shortest time, my wife's blackberry was completely restored.

Everyone, thank you again.
