Default Your Mail Server does not support Wireless Synchronization

Please Login to Remove!

I have installed over 100 Blackberry's and have never come across the following message when doing the install, "Your Mail Server does not support Wireless Synchronization". When I start Desktop Mgr. it see her PIN# in the desktop manager, but I immediately get that error message, then it goes through the synch process (but nothing gets synched). When I look at this Blackberry on the BES, it does not show her PIN#. I have unplugged her handhand and restarted Desktop Manager, but continue to get that message. HELP!!

Model# 7290...version 3.8
Desktop Mgr = 3.6
BES = 3.6
Platform = Exchange

Do you get this error when the handheld is disconnected? If so, plug the handheld in, open intellisync, click configure PIM, select Calendar, click Choose, and if it is set for BlackBerry Wireless Sync, select MS Outlook.

See if that works for you. I'm wondering if it's having a problem with doing a wireless sync with the calendar.

If that doesn't work, on the handheld, go into address book, click thumbwheel, choose options, and see if wireless synchronize is turned on. If it is, turn it off (won't work with the 3.6 BlackBerry Enterprise Server anyway). and you can also check tasks/options, notes/options. I don't think 3.8 has the wireless sync, but i could be wrong.

Did you find a fix for this problem? I am also experiencing the same issue where a particular blackberry install is complaining that our mail server does not support wireless synchronization - even though we have 120 other users working fine.

That error means the server does not have a BES account for that user.

This is a MAPI profile issue. First thing to check, does it say "Online" in the lower right corner of the desktop manager window? If not, check the network connection then the MAPI connection properties (the user may be using Outlook in offline mode).

If anything, create a new MAPI profile just for the BlackBerry and then point Desktop Manager to it. If desktop manager says that it is online and you still get the error, then you are most likely looking at a BES issue. I'd remove the user from the BES entirely and re-add them.

Of course, this is all assuming that the user does have a BES account set up...

This happens if you have your emails directed to a PST. To trick desktop manager:
change your delivery location in outlook to Microsoft Exchange Server
open desktop manager and synchronize your blackberry
while still connected change your delivery location to your pst

It worked for me.
Hope this helps.
