My apologies if this is answered somewhere, but I went through the various FAQs and searched all of the forums and could not find an answer. I'm new to the BlackBerry (a Pearl) from a Palm/Treo background, but more recently, Windows Mobile.

I forward meeting requests from various clients (from a Microsoft Exchange server) to my own personal account so I can have all of my meetings in one place (my hosted Exchange/BES account). In the past, on my Windows Mobile device, I was able to do one of three things when accepting (or, declining) a meeting request: accept, accept w/ comments, and accept but do not send a response. However, I cannot find anything like this last option on my BlackBerry Pearl anywhere.

I have searched the web for this as well, and the only reference I see to anything close to this is something in the Nokia S60 user manual for BlackBerry Connect stating that you can do one of the following: Send Now, Edit Response, and Don't Send Response.

Is this something I missed in the options somewhere, or is this just not available on the Pearl?

Like to know if this is possible too as my company uses Outlook for meeting requests, but we do not employ a BES.

This is non negotiable (as of 11/2006): To reply to meeting request on a blackberry, YOU NEED A BES SERVER.

You can either:

a) install BES yourself (note that BES is free for the 1'st user and very inexpensive afterwards)
b) Use a Hosted BES service

search the forums for more, but right now, it's NOT and NEVER has been possible to have wireless calendar without BES on a Blackberry. It's not planned either..

Thanks for the replies so far. I have BES, so I'm still wondering - anyone know why you cannot accept a meeting request without sending a reply on the BlackBerry, but you can with the BlackBerry Connect software on other platforms?

No idea why it isn't there, but if you just don't accept it, the meeting still shows up in your calendar and a response doesn't go through to the original sender.

I just do the accept-no respon when I get back to a full outlook client.
