I just upgraded my 7780 to the 4.0 OS on my home computer for the first time. I normally use it at work and sync there as well. I can receive email when sent to my office email, however, cannot send an email from my handheld address book. The error message indicates "unable to compress/encrypt message"...

Any help would be great.

Did you log into the BWC and resend the service book? Take battery out and put it back in? These things always work for me!

Have you connected to your corporate e-mail (from home), cradled the BB, started Desktop Manager and generated a new security key? I think that may be necessary.
