I setup the account and enter the imap address of the mail server and it defaults to POP3. I can not edit this field. Am I doing something wrong?

Unlocked Peral 8100 on Cingular network.

When in the BIS, under Add Account, enter your email address of the IMAP server, then click Next. This will bring you to a page where you can select POP or IMAP.

Yes I enter the address of the imap server address "imap.xxxxxx.com" and click on advanced section. It states POP3 with no option to change. It also shows port 995. Am I doing something wrong?

Steps:

1. Login into BIS (2.x)
2. Click Setup Account
3. Enter email address of new account
4. Click Next
5. Under Internet Service Provider E-mail (IMAP or POP), select I will provide the settings......
6. Click Next
7. Complete all the necessary info and submit (incl. IMAP)

Hmmm.... Is that number format a standard IMAP mailbox?? I am not understanding , can you please explain?

When you add the account be sure to put in an invalid password... this will make it allow you to manually change your settings (including changing from POP3 to IMAP).
