Default New Version 4.0.0.274 7100t

Please Login to Remove!

I heard a rumor from a reliable source that the T-mobile version of the software for the 7100t has been released. The new version is 4.0.0.274. Has anyone seen it yet and if so can they direct us to a download site? I understand it fixes such bugs as volume issues and additional Bluetooth issues but a newer release is in the works for all handhelds to address more of the known Bluetooth problems.

It is supposedly a certified BT Stack release. Volume issues are NOT addressed with this build from what I am told.

NJBlackberry, check the Bluetooth organization fillings and you will find that a newer version of the Bluetooth stack was submitted on 27 February 2005. I suspect the release for that stack is not far away.

All well and good. I hope that's right! But my source - who has always gotten me new code well in advance of release - has told me there is nothing new right now!

For RIM's sake I hope you are wrong as the longer some of these issue remain the worse the reputation the product gets. When a CNET review states "...those on the other end of our calls reported that the phone sounded "staticky" at times, and on our side, audio quality was tiny and hollow." and rates the phone only a 7.3 and average of 191 users only rate it a 7.1, these issues are important and getting them fixed quickly is important to the product's brand image. While I don't consider CNET the end all be all source, many consumers and company personnel look to sources like CNET to make their buy decision. I know I would be hesitant to purchase a phone that had less than an 8.0 rating all around meaning from both CNET's editors and from users (provided the user sample size is at least 25-100, preferably over 100).

Hopefully this will fix the random reboot during a phonecall problem. This thing is driving me insane, I'm so close to buying a treo 650 because this is just getting rediculous. It took me at least 15 minutes for the hourglass to go away yesterday when I was in the middle of a tech support call with my office. While the email features are the best thing out there, I simply cannot deal with my phone being unreliable. Other than that, I absolutely love this blackberry, and don't know how I would live without it. Come on update, make me proud!
