Talking One simple question

Please Login to Remove!

I already followed all the steps to uninstall / clean removal of desktop manager. As of now I am using a BB 7290 verison 4.1.0.292. What verison of desktop manager should I download specifically.

Thanks
-Eddie

Default It doesn't really matter

You can use 4.1 as the 7290 won't handle the media manager etc. that is included in 4.2 desktop. Just be sure to select the correct email type, BIS or BES, when installing the desktop manager.

You can use 4.2 if you want. You just won't be able to use the Media Manager application.

Unhappy Another error

I have another error with desktop manager 4.1. I connected the USB to my blackberry 7290. I started up the desktop manager then it asked me type in the password for the device, click on application loader and typed in password again. The application loader gives me this error: "No system software was found for your device. Contact your system administrator or service provider for information on obtaining device system software."

Any clues?

There are two components to the software; Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS. The message indicates you have not downloaded and installed the Handheld OS for your 7290 to your PC.

If you HAVE downloaded and installed it properly, then you have to locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive.

Make sure you downloaded AND installed to the PC the proper OS file for your BB. Then make sure the vendor.xml file is deleted. Then run Desktop Manager again.

Okay I got the desktop manager fixed up, but now I have the same error as my first theard that I post up:

Whenever I upload any programs into my bb, I clicked on ADD and they give me a message saying that "no additional applications designed for your device were found" I pressed ok, after this message I continue on with upload and then I get another message:

"Warnings were encountered during the loading process:

The following modules could not be loaded because their digital signatures were invalid."

I already tried uploading opera, ramble, verichat and any games that I have for blackberry.

After you clicked "add" did you browse the the .alx file you want to install and select it?

Yes I already did. After I click next the above error message pops up. I went to my blackberry and checked Options > Advanced Options > Applications and I see Opera inside.
