I have a BB 8703e on VZW right now, currently running .359 (Sprint PCS' software) and having no issues. However, I am currious to run .481 (8707v software) on it but have a question. In regards to the radio, obviously, the 8703e uses a CDMA radio while the 8707v uses a GSM radio. Will I need to edit or merge software from a CDMA packaged update to the 8707v to be able to uses the 8707v software?

You can only run CDMA software on CDMA devices . . . . or GSM on GSM!

Actually, it you are adventurous, have made backups of your data and have Javaloader handy, you can try and put on 8707 code onto an 8703.

You need to install both versions onto your PC. Then find where they are installed (c:\program files\common files\research in motion\shared)

Copy the JAVA directory from the 8707 code on top of the 8703 code.

Delete VENDOR.XML from your PC C: drive.

Start Desktop Manager. It may try to load. It may work. Then again, make sure you have a backup done first....

Trick is to always use the GSM or CDMA or UMTS folder
-with its respective file inside- valid for your handheld type.

NEVER delete/swap the file within that folder by/with
file from a different handheld type OS.
In other words, a GSM handheld cannot use
a CDMA/UMTS radio, or vice-versa.

Java folder can be mixed/over-ridden by newer OS from different handheld type.

And of course, the Blackberry.alx needs to be modified to
make use of the extra locked Vendor themes.
