Navigate to other application during call without warning dialog?

During a call, when I hit a convenience key to call up Calendar and check a time slot, this idiotic dialog comes up to confirm that I really want to continue the call and go to another application. It's absolutely inane, serves no purpose and gets in the way! Is there any way to turn the darn thing off?
This "feature" is so unBlackberry like. One of the aspects I like best about the BB is it doesn't treat me like an idiot. Throwing in this idiot proofing dialog, especially in a place where it accomplishes absolutely nothing, is just weird. I hope they take this out soon!
I'm not sure if this works the same on ShureType models, but on the full qwerty models hold down ALT and then push the 'back' button (the button below the scroll wheel) and scroll to whichever app you would like to go to.
As rawk has mentioned and following his steps....I've been able to view memo pad and task list while still on the phone. However you will receive the message you've noted when attempting to surf on your browser.
