Apparently release notes are like military secrets as they aren't easy to come by. RIM states that because the carriers may change them, that the carriers are then responsible for those notes.
Does anyone know where one can obtain a list of changes that were made in a device's code when a new version is released? It doesn't appear to come across with a download and installation, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
I just spoke to my technical contact at RIM about this subject yesterday. He stated that this infomation is not released to the general public by RIM. They do release this information to the carriers and it is up to them if the release it to their users or not. If we ever expect to see release notes for the handheld software it will have to come from the carriers and not RIM.
We pay a good chunk of money, $20K a year, for TSupport and if anything, I would think that we should be able to get access to these notes. When someone is supporting 100's of devices, you'd think we could choose which update we would want to apply versus those that we could let slide.
