Default 7520 v4.1.0.380 general question

Please Login to Remove!

I understand that the first version of the RIM 4.1 software enabled the Nextel phones to utilize MMS and optimize BIS 2.0, but what does the newest version (v4.1.0.380) offer over the older one (v4.1.0.273)?

I was not being sarcastic, I truly do appreciate the lack of information. At least now I know I don't have to download it or install it until there is a larger knowledge base for the product. RIM has nothing in it's library, Nextel knows nothing (big surprise there, stupid Sprint takeover) and nobody on this site has any information worthwile for this newer release other than what is "supposed to be".

FWIW, I just installed this OS... Seems to be good and boot time is better... I will post more when I have further impressions.

*Feels* like it's more snappy, but I'll know when it's got some uptime and a few days of hard work under it's wings.

Not sure if the old os allowed this, but I noticed on the main BB help browser webpage on the download section there was BlackBerry Maps available for download..... So I downloaded it and installed it.... One word... Sweeeeetttt.....

It uses the internal GPS and does routing and such!!!! Pretty bad ass deal for people that wouldn't use that function enough to warrant Telenav.... It's a very functional program once you realize the price..... Zero dollars...

So yeah, I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see how it keeps up. But I thought I'd let you know of a potential postive. Perhaps you can see if you can download the maps software to your BB? You can even click on someones address book entry and choose "Map Home" or "Map Work"... Slick...

If you don't have a link to it, enter this in your BB Browser:

well, i had tp update a replacement phone since my old screen cracked...

i downloaded the latest of the nextel site... which is:
Applications: 4.1.0.380
Software Platform: 1.6.0.12

but i don't have to option to MMS somebody. i also don't see an internet browser on the home screen... i also requested to get service books last night, nothing new this morning. even resetted the phone by taking the battery out. blah blah blah, suggestions?

jeez...i gotta get the iphone - UNLOCKED... nextel vs cingular... hm...

EDIT.... in options, advanced options, service books... it says MMS Client with a check mark next to it... also Blackberry Internet Browsing Service, WAP Browser, also check marks...

but can't access them or send MMS (there's not option to send one when highlighted a contact with a phone number in the address book).
