Default File Explorer?

Is there a way to explore the BB file structure? I wouls like to find an easier way to transfer ringtones and themes. It would be nice to be able to move default ringtones of the device and move others to it. Is there such a thing?

The only file explorer is on the 8100. It doesn't browse any BB system files, though. What kind of BB are you using? Currently the 8100 is the only model that you can transfer ringtones via usb. The rest you have to download from the web and save, thus you need a data plan for ringtones.

Welcome to the forums!

When 4.2 )S comes out for the 8700 I believe you'll be able to use the media manager in Desktop Manager to transfer pictures, and ringtones but I haven't actually seen it myself.

There is a filesystem on BlackBerries, but only with OS 4.2 and 8100 you can access a File Explorer style "feature"...

It may be possible with older 8700 models with an OS 4.2 upgrade (at least a sandbox for photos and ringtones)

Probably never. RIM gave all 8700 owners a lump of coal for Christmas and snubbed them during the new years toast. Seriously though the betas (yes plural) have been floating around for months, just push it out the door already.
