Exclamation Cant get internal browser to work, kills lots of internet apps!

Please Login to Remove!

I tried to laod google maps for BB
cant load...

Tried to load JiveTalk
Cant load...

Browser does NOT show up on the list of apps on the main menu, when invoked it tells me it cant start because it lacks a servicebook entry.

However, I'm using opera mobile w/o any problems whatsoever...

Somone PLEASE tell me how to fix the browser so I can use IM and GoogleMaps

Resend the service books from your BIS account website. Or call your carrier and ask them to do it for you. This is assuming that you have a BlackBerry data plan. No BlackBerry data plan = no browser icon.

What I have is a Boost Mobile account with unlimited Data access (both on phone and while using phone as a modem) Is the BIS account what I set up on blackberry.com? (just saw soething about setting up an account there to access email, no clue what I'm doing yet...)

Sorry, but all your questions/problems posted across this board lead to one answer. You need a specific "Blackberry Data Plan" for data on a Blackberry. Your unlimited data plan with Boost Mobile isn't enough. You will get basic phone functions only. Opera Mini *may* work but that's about it. You will not get a BB browser, you will not be able to download apps, you will not be able to get email....sorry.

I.e. I have only what the hardware supports, not anything that requires carrier support (i.e. sharkmodem works bc it just accesses the BB's hardware)

Is there any way to remove the icons that I cant use from the main menu then? (or atleast a way to rearange them and put them at the bottom of the list so I dont have to scroll through them when I only use like 5 or 7 apps usually)

The only other app I *really* want is a IM client for MSN and possibly AIM (since Y! can be seen over MSN now). (I *would* like a program like BB Today that shows missed calls and weather and stuff, but that's not important enough to make me shell out $20 a month when I'm paying $10 right now and get all the essentials *plus* unlimited data Xfer)

I'm dissapointed, but not greatly. I was simply trying to get a better interent on my phone - I *have* a PDA; a damn good one (Axim X51v, one of the most advanced ones avalible) I just wanted to be able to view webpages and post to forums/check webmail (I dont have a single "pop3 only" account), and type in qwerty instead of hitting a dozen keys to type "Dog" like I did on my Cell. Truth be told, if I couldhave found one that was iDEN I'd have gotten a PPC-phone with a touch-screen (jog wheel is great for scrolling, but I hate using it for menus; esp when I'm used to the touchscreen on my X51v) This was just the next best thing that uses the iDEN chipset (which is all Boost supports)
