Default Can't upgrade OS because desktop manager running in background? - 01-23-2007, 05:31 PM

I've tried several reboots of the XP machine, but each time it halts the OS upgrade because desktop manager is running. I've tried ending every process that looks like it's related, but no dice.

Help.

It's always funnier when it happens to someone else!!!

Still no dice, this is very aggravating. Won't even let me uninstall it. I even created a new user profile for the desktop.

You went extreme. I hope it was time to replace your computer though. If not, I guess now you have two good computers now.

What OS are you using on the smartphone? Please vote! http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1437055

Well, not really, the desktop's still good, but for some reason desktop manager always runs some background process that I can't see and therefore can't run the apploader.

And I have more than 2 good ones, have a bit of a laptop addiction.
