I'm not sure where to put this thread, I took a chance an started it here.

I setup email with my yahoo account on my new Pearl. It works great.
But, I really don't need or want the emails to go to my phone all the time. I'd rather just be able to pull them down when I want them.

Is there a way to disable the automatic pulldown of messages and give me the control as to when I want to get them ?

BB is all about push email, not on-demand. Once set up, all you can do is turn off Data Services in Network options.

I think you may have two options. The first is to try iMobileMail (http://www.imobilemail.com/). I use it and I think it would work well for the purpose you want. However, it costs $23/year, and it doesn't store the e-mail on the device, so you must wait for it to download all the e-mail from the account whenever you want to check.

The second option is LogicMail for Blackberry. I've never used it, but there have been a couple of recent posts about it here LogicMail - POP/IMAP checker! (free, open source, OTA install).
