Default Desktop Manager

I have been through the forums of all the "fixes" needed to get this to work without locking up, and I have to say that this is one of the buggiest, worst programs I have ever encountered.

Sometimes it syches up my system fine the first try. Sometimes I it fails, then won't connect until I reboot my computer. I have had to do this up to five times to get it to work.

Folks on this forum have come up with numerous complaints, numerous fixes [including deleting and reestablishing your Outlook profile]. Isn't it time for RIM to fix the problem?

PS. I use a relativley newe XP desktop, with a BB 7250.

While Desktop Manager isn't even nearly 100% perfect, I wouldn't be so quick to blame the software for the issues you mention. We support several hundred Blackberries at my company and very few of them have any issues with Desktop Manager. What problems are you specifically having? When you say it won't connect, are you referring to the connection to your Exchange profile or the Blackberry itself? What happens when it locks up and where is it locking up (when you connect the Blackberry, when you backup/restore, during Intellisync)?

When it locks up, it does so when it is going through the steps of going through the Outlook tasks, contacts.

Once it locks up, if I close Desktop Manager, then reopen it, it will not recognize and connect to the BB, even when I do it manually.

There have been a host of people on these boards who have posted these same exact problems, with a number of "fixes" to solve them. Which I have tried.

If you can help, that would be great.
