Question 7100v OS 3.8 to 4.0 should I...?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there!

I've searched about new OS update to read the and points!
I'm really interested to update to the new OS 4.0 because of one functionality... the calendar mark as private option with BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) and Outlook 2003 not working in OS 3.8. From what I found it's a bug in OS 3.8. I really, really would like this option to work!

The problem is that I can't found the OS 4.0 for the 7100v (vodafone) from my country to download!
I can only find from vodafone UK, Australia and a few more vodafone sites. Not for my country!!

Should I mail vodafone?

Kind regards.

Any vodafone will work. Check the FAQ for download locations.

Hi!

I've just upgraded to the new OS4! Everything seems to be ok. Just got 2 questions:
- What's the new option in settings menu "Enterprise Activation" for?
- In "Service Books" a new service book appears with the name "Provisioning [PROVISIONING]". What's this for?

I've just read here in the forum that with the new OS4 it's possible to add a picture to the stand-by screen instead of owner information. How do I do that?

Kind regards.

Enterprise activation is a feature of BES 4.0 allowing users to initially synch their devices OTA with the BES.
The Service book titled [PROVISIONING] defines the device available services as either a enterprise (BES) or prosumer (BWC) or both.
To add a image as wallpaper go into applications>images>select pic>set as wallpaper

With BES 4 and handheld running OS4.0 as well, you can receive and open pictures on your handheld and save them to the "Pictures" directory. Highlight the Pic and choose to use as standy by screen (Set this on Options-Screen/keyboard) or as your background picture.

7100T 0S4 performs much better than 3.8. True it takes up too much space but works better than it did. CIO loves it.
