Question i need some help guys

hi i have A BB8700C AND I DOWNLOAD THE BLACKBERRY DESKTOP SOFTWARE BUT I CAANT INSTALL HE MAKE ME A ERROR

Make sure you have appropriate privileges on this machine

I THINK ITS CUZ I'M USING VISTA ON MY LAPTOP

ANYONE HELP ME???

Please don't SHOUT.

Make sure you have downloaded the very latest version of Desktop Manager (v4.2, Service Pack 1) from the BlackBerry Support web site. That version does work properly with Vista (I have it installed on a few Vista machines now).

how do you know it's a HE?

i'm using a laptop and right now im downloading de BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.2 b17 English i hope work

Angry iskernel file problem
I'm having this same problem - trying to install DM 4.2 SP1 on Vista and getting the iskernel file error. I got this even after following the complete uninstall guidelines in the sticky notes (as best I could since they don't actually include uninstall info for Vista). I'm on my home machine and logged in as an Admin when trying all of this...

Ideas anyone?

Smile Failed to Install ISKERNEL Files
I had the same problem (Error Msg: Failed to Install ISKERNEL Files) when I tried to install the English version of Desktop Manager 4.2 SP1 on Vista. However, when you choose the Multilanguage version, all is fine.

There is a Vista KB article on this -- probably not going to help much.
