Default Blackberry Messenger, Contact adding

How do you do it by PIN number? When I got to add contact, it pulls up my address book and if I select One Time Use or whatever at the top you put an email in.

Also if you choose to add by email, does it have to be a blackberry email account you use?

I don't know about working with non-blackberry's, but I don't think so. I'm pretty sure both participants need a blackberry, and probably need a pin.

There is a space in the bb contacts to put the other person's pin. I've found when playing around, that works best. Put each other's pin in your contacts, and then when you request to allow each other access to each other, it works well. Hope that helps

BB Messenger only works with other BB users as it's PIN to PIN communication. Fromm BB Messenger --->Add Contact-->Use Once-->Request by PIN -->enter users PIN

I find requesting by email is shaky...some of my contacts never received request so I always use by PIN.

So I figured out the invite thing, but do both people need to invite each other or just one invite and the other accept? And I tried the pin method to see if that works quicker, but how long on average should it take for them to get the notification? Like an SMS only a few seconds?

They'll receive the request instantly.
