Unhappy OUtlook Live and BB Desktop Mgr v4.0.0.30 config failure

Please Login to Remove!

Try as I might I can't get BB Desktop Mgr to let me select MS Outlook as a translator. Everytime I do (ie just clicking on the drop down option for MS O/L - I don't even hit OK) BBDesktop crashes and sends a message off to MS. MS Crash Tracking responds that this is an unresolved problem with RIM software.

Anyone managed to solve this. Either everyone else can get this to work or no one else uses Outlook Live.

I have so far tried uninstalling (cleanly) and reinstalling. Creating a new profile in Outlook Live and even setting BBDesktop as an Exchange server install. I have tried switching on and off my ifrewall and anti-V from Trendmicro - So far no joy. The issue does seem to be in ILXOLK.fil if that helps.

Default I have the exact same problem.

I just got my Blackberry 7290 yesterday and started using it today after the initial battery charge. Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I'm experiencing the exact same thing!

Default Outlook Live And Blackberry Software Not Compatible

I phoned T-Mobile's Blackberry support team this morning and my CSR got on the phone with their RIM contact. The RIM contact said that Outlook Live is NOT compatible with Blackberry's software (as of now). There is NO fix available. You would have to downgrade back to an earlier version of Outlook or Outlook Express to be able to sync.

Nonetheless, I returned the Blackberry this afternoon.

Outlook live does not use .pst the intellisync software which is incorperated in the BlackBerry software chooses not to support it therefore BlackBerry does not support it. Contact Microsoft and see if they have a resolution to put Outlook Live into .pst's

What does Outlook Live and PST files have to do with each other? I was under the impression that Outlook Live was simply the subscription-based version of Outlook 2003 with a specialized Connector for the web storage of your mailbox. I doubt it has anything to do with a PST rather than a supported connection outside of Outlook (PST in some cases, Exchange server in others).

I'm pretty sure outlook live is used with hotmail to allow you to manage your hotmail e-mail through Outlook this also includes your contacts and calender.

With outlook live you dont have a MAPI profile to connect to hotmail.
With intellisync you need to be using a MAPI profile.

Intellisync uses the MAPI profile to connect to either a PST or Exchange mailbox

The main point behind it is that Outlook live allows you to use hotmail as if you were on an exchange server. But does not use MAPI

I'm pretty sure thats how outlook live works and I know that's how intellisync works
