Default Unusual public folder sync issue

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to get blackberry desktop to sync with "favorite" public folders (for contacts or Calendars) that are cached locally in Outlook?

Every time I try, BB Desktop bails out after a small number of records with:

"Unable to get data from an Outlook or MS Exchange record..."

Yes, I've nuked the Intellisync configuration and started over. I've tried different versions of the desktop software. They only thing that works is to turn off caching of public folder favorites in Outlook, which *kills* performance in Outlook because the Exchange server isn't on the local LAN.

Anyone have any creative solutions / suggestions? Unfortunately, "stop using public folders" isn't one of the options.

I would be interested if anyone has feedback on this problem. Outlook works great with the cached public folders, I don't understand why RIM doesn't allow the Desktop software sync with those locally cached folders?!?
